I am the Technology Director for Zion-Benton Township High School District 126, in Zion Illinois. We have two high schools, Zion-Benton High School and New Tech High. Our student population is approximately 2800 students. Zion-Benton High School has roughly 900 computers. New Tech High is a technologically state-of –the-art high school with 1-to-1 computing using a mix of 500 Dell and Apple desktops and laptops. We use Citrix Provisioning Server to deliver a secure image to 95% of our computers over the network. This requires a very sophisticated and reliable network and server infrastructure.
I can’t say enough about Computer Help-Key. They have been a strategic partner of our school district since 1999. At that time they were brought in to clean up the school’s Novell installation (and did a fantastic job). From that time on Computer Help-key has been my “right hand man” with technology here at ZBTHS. From planning to implementation, from the desktop to the cloud, they help us on every level. I could not do my job without them.
Computer Help-Key is responsible for our infrastructure from the switches to the cloud. This includes all servers, switches, routers, fire-walls, UPS’s, wireless AP’s, storage, and backup devices. It also includes all associated software including directory services, file management, security, email, backup, disaster recovery, email archiving, and virtual computing. In addition to these service they provide invaluable insight and support to many other technology initiatives and applications.
Computer Help-Key takes great pride in their work and stand behind their word. Beyond their technical know-how they have always proven to be professional, courteous, and conscientious. I’ve learned to trust them implicitly as their ethical standards are beyond reproach.
Their approach has always been to recommend and implement solutions that are proven, secure, and cost effective. While certainly not unwilling or unable to implement new cutting edge solutions they have always erred on the side of what is proven to work. Some would call this being overly cautious. I’d call it being smart. This approach has saved me on numerous occasions from making short-sited and costly mistakes.
While I could go into great detail of all that they have done for us over the years I believe I can sum it up by quoting one of our staff members: “I can remember when the network was so unreliable I didn’t expect it do work. Now I’m surprised when it doesn’t.”
Our staff has come to expect our systems to work all the time in large part because of the expertise and hard word of Computer Help-Key.
Computer Help-Key: Their help is a key component in the success of our technology program.
